Apian – Guild Monthly Meeting – Third Thursday
March 19 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
We have another bee package to give away this month!
Our speaker this month is Aladin Boroli who will be presenting on the Apian project. Aladin is in Germany, where it’s a lot later than Philadelphia so we will start with his presentation this month and follow with the beek panel.
Apian
The Ministry of Bees is responsible for the relationship between humans and all bee species. It is tasked by bees to safeguard the history of this age-old relationship, and does so by producing polymorphous ethnographies. These ethnographies combine various media, including video, sound, photography, and writing in order to represent the world of bees to humans and promote Socialist Beekeeping practices. The Ministry aims to establish a framework for the future of this relationship in the context of climate breakdown – a future free from extractive practices and grounded in ancestral knowledge. You can visit the Apian Website here: www.apian.ch.
Bee Panel
Our beekeeping topic this month will be spring feeding. We’ll again have a panel of local beekeepers to discuss why you might want to feed in the early spring, how to do it, and what to expect.
Door Prize
Our door prize this month is from BeesNTrees who have donated a package of bees. We handed out order forms for them last month and you can download you very own version here.
BeesNTrees is in Hershey, but if Bill gets enough orders he will bring the packages to us when they arrive. Please give your order forms and payment to Eric Schoefer or send them to us at info@phillybeekeepers.org
We meet at 7pm at St. James School. 🐝
