It’s all about Committees
All of the Guild’s activities are managed by our committees and overseen by the board of directors. Committee leads are board members. Each committee engages in both purely volunteer and revenue generating activities. Committee members are entitled to a share of revenues that their committee generates. A detailed description of the committee structure can be found here.
Board of directors
The Board is responsible for coordinating the activities of the committees, developing new programs, and managing Guild finances and communications. If you really want to make a difference the board is the place to be.
Education Committee
The Education Committee is responsible for running our beekeeping classes and developing programs for non-beekeepers, schools and the general public. Our introductory classes and workshops are traditionally the biggest source of Guild revenues.
Events Committee
The Events Committee runs Honey Fest and coordinates with other groups to support and participate in events all over the city. This committee is one of the most active and a great way to get involved with the Guild even if you’re not a beekeeper. We need lots of help at events!
Apiary Committee
The Apiary Committee keeps the bees. We have partner apiaries all over the city and the committee works to support them and plan and oversee our beekeeping work. The apiary committee is great if you have some experience and love sharing your love of bees with the broader community.
