Picnic Postponed!

Every summer for as long as anyone can remember a small band of dedicated beekeepers have gathered to celebrate the end of swarm season and the coming honey harvest at the Summer Solstice picnic!

We will update this post in a few days, but just so everyone gets the message the Summer Solstice Picnic is postponed. Do not come to Awbury on June 22.

This is the weather. Otherwise the rest of the post is relevant to the postponed event as well.

Have some food on us!

We’ll be firing up the grill and chilling some beverages for the Solstice picnic this year. We start at 2 and go to who knows?

This is a great time to get some face time with your fellow beekeepers!

Extract yourself some honey!

We’ll have the honey kitchen open and you can extract during the picnic.

Use the sign up below to schedule a half hour for each 9 frames you have to extract. Bring a bucket for cappings and one bucket per 12 frames or less that you want to extract.

Let’s taste some honey!
If you extract you’ll have some fresh stuff to taste, but come on, you’ve got some honey around.

Bring your favorites old and new and we’ll taste them together. We may even go into the archive of samples from previous year tastings!
