Solstice Pot Luck
December 21, 2025 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Every year the beekeepers of Philadelphia come together to celebrate the Winter Solstice also known as the shortest day and the start of winter. It’s a dire passage from darkness to gradual lightening which we celebrate. We don’t go too far with these celebrations. This is a family friendly event. We may have a bonfire. We will have food.
We will do the traditional ceremony that ensures the effectiveness of our mite controls and the adequacy of our winter stores. These are important concerns and should not be left to chance. A little ritual is always a good idea.
So Join Us! – whether you’re a new or long term guild member or a current or future volunteer or want to learn more about the beekeepers guild and meet our friendly welcoming community, please join us at our potluck winter solstice. Bring a dish to share or come as you are. Future volunteers – no need to bring food unless you want to – you’re welcome and we’d love to meet you!
