Join us for a workshop led by Eric Schoefer focusing on assembling wooden langstroth hives. Participants will learn proper techniques for constructing hives, and receive guidance on painting and finishing hives. Additional demonstrations will cover smoker use and protective clothing options.
BeeWorks is hosting a wax dipping event on March 22, allowing Guild members to enhance their wooden equipment’s durability and appearance. Members can bring new equipment directly to BeeWorks or drop it off at the Equipment Workshop on March 15 for dipping. Finished items will be available on March 29.
This month, the Philly Beekeepers meeting features Aladin Boroli presenting the Apian project, focusing on the relationship between humans and bees through diverse ethnographies. Our Beek panel will discuss spring feeding techniques. A door prize of bee packages from BeesNTrees is available to in person attendees.

This four-class series, led by Norris Childs, introduces participants to mead-making, covering fermentation, aging, and finishing. Classes meet every other Saturday from April 4 to May 16, culminating in a shared bottle of mead. Attendees will learn in a unique honey house environment in Philadelphia. Norris has extensive mead-making experience.
