Therapeutic Beekeeping Program – Participants Needed!

Are you, or someone you know, an older adult interested in hands-on, nature-based wellness activities?

We are recruiting participants for a pilot therapeutic beekeeping program as part of a doctoral occupational therapy research project at Temple University, in partnership with Half Mad Honey. The program explores how nature-based activities, like beekeeping, may support:

  • Mental well-being
  • Social and nature connection
  • Engagement in meaningful activities

Program Details:

  • Small-group sessions, guided and safety-focused
  • No prior beekeeping experience required
  • Participation is entirely voluntary
  • Opportunity to participate in 6 beekeeping sessions

Next Steps:

  • You will be asked to complete an eligibility questionnaire
  • If eligible, you will review and sign a consent form
  • Once consent is received, participants will complete a brief interview (15-30 minutes) prior to participating in the program
